Following the hapless accident involving a train and a BRT bus conveying Lagos state civil servants on Thursday, March 9th, 2023, the umbrella body of all Seriki Hausawa in Alimosho local government, under the aegis of the chieftaincy council of Arewa community, Alimosho local government, have expressed grief as they commiserate with the Lagos state governor, civil servants in the state’s employ, entire people of Lagos and especially, families who lost loved ones.
Expressing condolences on behalf of the traditional council, chairman and Sarki overall of Alimosho local government, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, described the incident as most unfortunate, adding that, it was such an unsettling experience that is better imagined than experienced.
The chieftaincy council is through this medium, registering our unease and emphaty with the government of Lagos, the people and affected families on the rather forgettable incident, the royal symbol said, in a rather sombre tone.
Recall that, Lagosians were yesterday, greeted with the sad incident involving a moving train and the BRT bus which was in the course of crossing the rail track around PWD area of Lagos Abeokuta expressway; available reports have revealed that, six of the passengers on board the bus lost their lives, while, numerous other suffered different degrees of injuries including fractures and bruises and are responding to treatment at the Lagos state university teaching hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja.
The Lagos state government has consequent upon the unfortunate incident announced a three day mourning as declared by the executive governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu yesterday.
