The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance, stating that the swearing-in of newly appointed Supervisors and Special Advisers marks a critical step toward strengthening service delivery at the grassroots. He described the ceremony as more than a routine official function, noting that it represents a defining moment in advancing the government’s resolve to improve the welfare of residents.
Congratulating the appointees, the Chairman emphasized that their selection is not by chance but a call to duty. He urged them to demonstrate diligence, integrity, and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities, stressing the need to remain responsive to the needs of the people and to deliver results that justify the trust placed in them.
He further highlighted Alimosho’s position, describing it as a dynamic community of hardworking citizens—traders, artisans, transport workers, youths, and families—whose expectations from government must not be disappointed. He charged the new officials to work collectively in sustaining public confidence through impactful governance.
Speaking on administrative responsibilities, the Chairman described the Secretary to the Local Government as the “engine room” of governance, tasked with ensuring effective policy implementation through discipline, coordination, and efficiency. He also noted that Supervisors must remain closely connected to the grassroots, driving development across key sectors such as environment, health, works, education, and agriculture, with visible improvements in infrastructure and community services.
The Special Advisers, he said, are expected to provide strategic and forward-looking guidance that will help the administration navigate challenges and deliver practical solutions. He reiterated that governance must be result-oriented, focusing on cleaner environments, improved roads, enhanced security, youth empowerment, and economic growth.
The Chairman stressed the importance of teamwork, unity, and humility in leadership, warning against rivalry and indiscipline while encouraging innovation and collaboration. He urged all appointees to engage directly with residents, noting that effective governance extends beyond offices into the streets, markets, and communities.
In his remarks, the Council Manager, Dr. Idowu Banjoko, advised the appointees to uphold professionalism, adhere strictly to due process, and maintain high ethical standards in their duties. He emphasized that their actions must align with the broader developmental objectives of the administration.
The Chairman concluded by assuring residents that the new team would work tirelessly to justify public trust and accelerate development across all wards, calling on stakeholders to support efforts aimed at moving Alimosho forward.
