All Progressives Congress stalwarts in Agege local government and Orile-Agege local council development area have strongly condemned the anti-party moves going on within its members in the council areas.
The ugly development it was gathered was the aftermath of the bickering that ensued after the party’s local government election primaries that was held across the state recently.
Speaking at the federal constituency meeting called by Hon. Samuel Adejare and Hon. Yinka Ogundimu, the duo called on the party faithfuls in the council area to come out enmasse on July 24th and vote massively for the candidates of the party as approved by the party hierarchy in the state.
According to Hon. Ogundimu,”There are rumors that the other divide of the party in Agege local government and Orile Agege LCDA respectively sponsored some candidates in Accord Party to contest against the candidates nominated by our great party, the APC.
“To us, the party have rightly decided on those that would fly the flag of the party across board and we as democrats and lover of peace do abide by the party’s decision. It is disheartening seeing some members of the APC sponsoring candidates on the platform of Accord Party to contest against the candidates of their party. What do you call that, if not anti – party.”
“The party is supreme and it has made its decision. Therefore, why is it so difficult to abide by the decision? It is only God that posses supreme power. He empowers who ever he wishes. Nobody should act God because He gives power and he takes it. I thereby urged you all present here today to vote for our party. Disgrace all those who are sponsoring Accord against our party.”
Speaking further, Ogundimu said,” We have it on record that they have been embarking on house to house, zone to zone and ward to ward campaign to convince you secretly to vote for APC Chairmanship candidates and Accord Party for councilorship positions in some wards with emphasis on my ward, that of Hon. Adejare and Opeifa. My people they will fail.”
“Anybody that preaches Accord Party to you, record the conversation on phone. Do not mind them, your vote should be for all APC candidates. Go all out and vote for our party, and after voting make sure you stay back and protect your votes.”
Hon.Samuel Adejare, a federal lawmaker representing Agege Federal Constituency at the National Assembly told the gathering that those engaging in anti-party activities are doing it to protect their selfish interests.
“We have God and He determines everything. Nobody should be playing His role. Whatever He wills will come to pass. None of his creatures will take His place. All those doing anti-party or sponsoring same to achieve their selfish desire have failed already.”
“They have created problems for themselves and they will continue nursing that definitely because a person who swallows a pestle will have to spend the rest of the night standing on both feet.
Adejare admonished the people present at the meeting to go back to the use of nose marks and continued to prevent against covid-19.
“A new variant of the deadly disaese is deadlier. Please let us endeavor to protect ourselves and our loved ones. Covid-19 is real,” he averred.
The Councilorship candidates of the party in Agege local government and Orile Agege LCDA were presented to party members at the gathering.
